ok there is some art contest down at my library and before i drew this, my submission was just a 4 tailed fox which i was gonna paint but since im lazy i kept procrastinating and doodled this. i thought this looked pretty good so i colored it all last night till 1:00am and so yeah.......oh and since im lazy i didnt do much of a backround cuz i was tired.
but anyways this is a fan art of rao and nine tails from the video game okami and nine tails is one of my favorite charecters in the game, so thats the basic description.
and boy i tell you what this was a real big pain in the ass to color though

Sometimes, I like to pretend that the Rao we (the player) knew wasn't just a "facade" that Nine Tails put up to decieve us. Your depiction of her closely fits how I view NineTail's Rao personna:
The Rao I came to know was a doll who gained a life all her own once she believed Rao's memories were her own. Meanwhile NineTails laid dormant within her, subtly influencing her actions as her "inner voice", perhaps under the guise of her conscience. She doesn't even know that she's really just some monster's costume. All she does know is what she remembers from Rao's life about being the local priest.
In the beginning, she enjoyed filling out her role as Sian City's hope and comfort, it made her feel loved. Though she couldn't help but wonder about her black-outs, caused by when NineTails needed to use her body to help Blight. Not to mention her memories of her death would threaten to surface.
Rao's awe and devotion for Okami was never faked, she really did BELIEVE she adored her.
She isn't even aware that she personally (or at least Nine Tails) killed the Empress when Ami arrives. The moment Ami sees through her, that's when Nine Tails takes full control and "kills" the personality who thought she was Rao...
